Nala, you silly snuggle bunny. We loved this story.

Hi there! What's for breakfast?

Imagine waking up to find that the pooch who has been snuggling next to you in bed is NOT YOUR DOG!

That’s exactly what happened to a couple in Tennessee earlier this month.

When Julie and Jimmy Johnson posted photos of their mystery guest online, they found out what happened: the mischievous dog had slipped her collar during a walk the day before.

Then she got scared during a thunderstorm and headed for the nearest safe place: Julie and Jimmy’s home, with their three very easygoing dogs!

The snuggler, whose name is Nala, was reunited with her family, and everyone had a good laugh. You can see the full story at the link below.

Dogs like Nala trust and love people.

But human intervention has made them lose their ability to fend for themselves, so we have a responsibility to take care of them.

They need us. And we’re so lucky to have them in our lives. Helping them is a labor of love.

The problem is, very few dogs are as lucky as Nala. Far too many dogs are born as homeless strays – dying young of neglect, or being deliberately killed, year after year.

This is awful, and it’s the number one cause of suffering for dogs – and cats – worldwide.

It’s time to solve this problem once and for all, humanely and effectively.

We hope you’ll support our innovative approach to this global problem: by using 21st-century science to develop safe, permanent birth control cookies for dogs and cats.

Thanks!

What we do and why we do it

At 600 Million Dogs, we’re working to develop permanent, safe, inexpensive birth control food that only needs a one-time administration.

A food that could be given just one time, and it will safely prevent reproduction for the rest of an animal’s life.

The millions of homeless dogs and cats killed each year need this.

The problem is that this type of birth control food is still in the R&D stage, and the drug companies are not working on it.

We’re determined to develop this very much needed birth control food, even though we’re a small grassroots organization.

In short, we're working on a permanent solution to this global problem.

We've made important progress but we need full-time scientists to finish the job, and this is why we need your help.

If you would like to support our work to develop permanent birth control food, please make a tax-deductible gift of any amount at 600MillionDogs.org/donate

Your gift will make a tangible impact ... and the animals will be forever grateful.

Thanks!
