What could have been a life-threatening condition for Niblett, an abandoned puppy with a partially exposed brain, was prevented — thanks to the creative designers of a groundbreaking 3D-printed helmet!
Rescuers immediately noticed a soft spot on top of Niblett’s head. His skull was not fully fused when he arrived at the Humane Educational Society (HES) in Chattanooga.
The tiny chihuahua puppy, only 2.5 pounds, had a condition known as hydrocephalus, or "water on the brain."
“Even the most minor injury or bump to the noggin could be life-threatening for Niblett,” HES said in a Facebook post.
With help from the U. of Tennessee College of Engineering, a 3D helmet was printed for Niblett!
Niblett took to wearing his new headgear right away.
600 contacted HES and confirmed that Niblett has since been adopted!
The power of innovative technology to save animals inspires us — it’s at the heart of our mission.
While technology saved Niblett, millions of stray dogs worldwide aren't so lucky. That's why developing a One-Dose Spay and Neuter Cookie is crucial.
Millions of homeless dogs and cats roam the streets with no guarantee of tomorrow. Every day is a struggle for survival.
Tragically, surgical spay and neuter efforts just can't keep up with the endless tide of newborn puppies and kittens, and the cycle of suffering goes on.
That’s why our mission is to end the number 1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats — overpopulation — by developing a permanent-lasting birth control cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will in effect spay or neuter — without surgery.
Help end the number one cause of suffering for dogs and cats for just $5 a month.
Thank you for being forward-thinking and compassionate.
