Hermit crabs should not be sold in stores!

Often, news about animals is depressing, but not all stories end in heartbreak.

Today, we have a feel-good moment to brighten your day!

A man was having a beach day at the Jersey Shore when he spotted something strange moving around in a trash can.

He realized they were hermit crabs, and pieced together that someone must have bought them at a shop along the boardwalk, then tossed them into the trash.

Hermit crabs need natural shells, not painted ones!

Determined to save them, he called his friend DoctorBugz, a popular TikTok creator known for videos about small animals.

DoctorBugz jumped into action to save the hermit crabs and give them a better life.

Hermit crabs don't have their own hard shells, so he gave them a proper home with safe, natural shells to crawl into, knowing their painted ones could be lethal due to toxic chemicals.

Now the hermit crabs are thriving!

All animals, no matter how large or small, deserve our compassion and respect.

Every day, we continue to work hard to end the number 1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats -- overpopulation -- by developing a permanent-lasting birth control cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will in effect spay or neuter -- without surgery.

We are dedicated to ending this global problem, and a gift of any amount will help. Support our cruelty-free studies and clinical research that saves animals and people at the same time!

You have the power to make a difference for animals now ... for as little as $5 a month!

Thank you for caring about animals!
