Dear Friend of 600,

Please, please, please!

Would you please do me a big favor and share the link to this blog post with a friend?!

Sharing is a free and easy way to help animals, and it would really help a lot!

In fact, I'm asking each of our supporters to share this with a friend, inviting them to learn about our humanitarian work.

We believe that the more they know about our humanitarian mission, the better. The more they understand about our work, the better for the animals.

Hopefully, they'll also opt in for free email updates, to continue to learn about our life-saving mission, and they can start by clicking on 600MillionDogs.org!

A Global Problem We Are On Track To Solve

... a problem we will solve faster with you on board. The problem: the overpopulation of dogs and cats. Overpopulation is the #1 cause of suffering and the #1 cause of death for dogs and cats worldwide. It is the single greatest crisis they face around the planet.

The good news -- through our unique science-centered mission, we're working to significantly reduce animal suffering by developing a safe, one-dose, permanent birth control Cookie for stray dogs and cats.

We need your help because on any given day, hundreds of millions of stray dogs and cats roam the streets, homeless, hungry and alone.

Without family.

Without shelter.

Without food.

Suffering. Starving. Here in the U.S., hundreds of thousands are put to death every year … … hundreds of thousands of perfectly healthy, loving, adoptable dogs and cats are put to death. If they're not adopted, they're put to death.

To make matters worse, in many countries around the world, stray dogs and cats are brutally killed.

Poisoned. Shot. Crushed to death in trash compactors. Millions of the survivors will go on to give birth to more puppies and kittens … … trapped in an endless Cycle of Suffering.

The number one way to limit overpopulation is to prevent homeless animals from being born in the first place.

While spay and neuter surgeries are common across the world, they come with a different sort of challenge:

... stray dogs and cats must be captured, undergo surgery, and take time to recover. You can imagine the huge amount of resources required to make this possible.

The good news: there is a solution!

An Exciting Solution Is Within Reach: What if we could spay and neuter dogs and cats … without surgery? We're developing a One-Dose Spay and Neuter Cookie that, when completed, will provide safe, inexpensive, permanent birth control for dogs and cats.

Our goal is to make important changes to existing birth control formulas, so that a single Cookie will safely spay or neuter a stray, without requiring surgery. When completed, this will allow society to reach the goal of ending the global pet overpopulation crisis -- and end the immense suffering it causes.

Who's Behind It?

Alex Pacheco, the founder of 600 Million Dogs, knows what it takes to spark revolutionary change ... because he’s done it before. To list just a few of his notable achievements:

Alex Pacheco and Pilot Pup, 600 Million Dogs

#1: In 1981, he worked undercover to document the cruel treatment of monkeys in a research laboratory.

This resulted in the first and only arrest, criminal prosecution, and conviction of an animal experimenter on charges of cruelty. Known as the Silver Spring Monkeys case, it launched the U.S. animal rights movement.

#2: Over the years, to raise public awareness about cruelty to animals, he has been arrested over 60 times in the line of duty.

Even Harvard University called him a “national folk hero to the animal rights movement."

#3: In 1980, when the U.S. animal rights movement was in its infancy, he co-founded PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), then served as Chairman for 20 years, before leaving.

Join this world-changing solution! Our supporters make it all possible. We are a small, grassroots charity doing the work that billion-dollar drug companies should be doing … but they're not.

Will you join us in ending the greatest cause of suffering for dogs and cats?

What we do and why we do it ... At 600 Million Dogs, we’re working to develop a safe, inexpensive, permanent birth control Cookie that only needs a one-time administration. A Cookie that could be given just one time, and it will safely prevent reproduction for the rest of an animal’s life. The millions of homeless dogs and cats killed each year need this. The problem is that this type of birth control Cookie is still in the R&D stage, and the drug companies are not working on it. We’re determined to develop this very much needed birth control, even though we’re a small grassroots organization. In short, we're working on a permanent solution to this global problem. Our dedicated scientists are making important progress while working part-time, but we need scientists working full-time to finish the job, and this is why we need your help. If you would like to support our work to develop a permanent birth control Cookie, please make a tax-deductible gift of any amount. Your gift will make a tangible impact ... and the animals will be forever grateful. Please visit our website at 600MillionDogs.org to learn more.
