7 days, 7 ways to save animals!

animals week, donate, donation

Be Kind to Animals Week is the first week of May! The first Be Kind to Animals week happened in 1915, making it one of the longest-running animal advocacy events.

Here's a list of actions you can take – one for each day of the week! Thanks so much for caring about animals!

stray dog, dog, dogs

Animal rescuers are facing a disastrous situation in Bahrain as multiple men armed with rifles continue to ruthlessly shoot innocent stray dogs.

International media attention is DESPERATELY needed! If you know any animal-friendly people in the media, please ask them to contact us immediately at Media@600MillionDogs.org

If you haven’t signed our petition yet, please do, and share it with friends and family to help end the nightmare for these suffering dogs.

octopus

The company Nueva Pescanova plans to construct the world's first industrial octopus "farm" in the Canary Islands, where it will put octopuses in 1,000 group tanks. Octopuses, who are used to living solo in the vast open ocean, would suffer immensely in barren tanks without anything to stimulate their incredible intelligence. The octopuses will be killed by being submerged in icy water, leading to slow and painful deaths.

If you haven't already, urge the Spanish government to block the construction of the facility before it has the chance to start!

cat, cats, feral cat

Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a devastating disease affecting cats worldwide. FIP is almost always fatal once symptoms appear. However, over the last few years, certain drugs have been found to be effective in treating FIP and giving cats the chance to live.

Yet these drugs remain illegal or inaccessible across much of the world and the U.S.

Gilead Sciences Inc. is the developer behind GS-441524. So far, Gilead has refused to license GS-441524 for use in cats. We are calling on Gilead Sciences to do the right thing and license the drug for use in cats! If you haven't already signed, please do!

Please join us in our mission: To bring a permanent end to the number one cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats -- overpopulation -- by developing a permanent-lasting, one-time birth control cookie for stray dogs and cats. A cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will in effect spay or neuter -- without surgery.

A one-time cookie that will artificially induce a type of human menopause -- but in dogs and cats, without using hormones.

We rely entirely on donations from people who care, like you.

The good news is that each of us can pitch in and help animals now for only $1 a month!

Together we will save entire future generations of animals from cruelty and suffering.

If you can't donate, there is still a way for you to help. Help spread the word by sharing this email on Facebook, using the "f" icon at the bottom of the page.
