Over 1,000 street dogs in India have been killed in just one month.
Food is being used to bring them close, turning the one thing they need to survive into the reason they die.
Needles are pushed into their bodies or poison is placed where they feel safe enough to eat.
Their legs begin to give in while they are still on their feet, their bodies no longer responding as fear sets in.
The Chief Minister of Telangana has the power to stop this cruelty.
A directive can shut down these killings and enforce cruelty laws.
Dogs are collapsing in the same places where they once rested, near homes and people they recognized.
Some are fed for months or years before being harmed by those same hands.
In one village, around 200 dogs were found dead.
In another, bodies were buried in pits after being poisoned.
Reports from multiple districts show the same pattern repeating again and again.
Election promises to “remove” street dogs are carried out through mass killing.
State authorities can shut this down, investigate those responsible, and stop the use of poison and injections immediately.
More dogs will die the same way unless pressure forces action from those in power.
Stand up for them and push for an end to these killings before more bodies are left in the streets or buried out of sight.
Action from people watching around the world can push for immediate intervention and make it harder for this cruelty to be ignored.
Thank you for taking action for animals!
