The black dog outside a stranger’s house
Ada was sitting outside a house in a village when our team came across her.
She was a beautiful, large black dog, but her coat was dirty, and she looked weak.
When our team approached, Ada became frightened and tried to hide.
We did not want our approach to make her more afraid.
For the next 30 minutes, our team offered her food and water, giving her time to feel safe enough to come closer.
Hunger eventually won over fear.
Ada began to trust us, and we were able to take her to our shelter.
We bathed her and took her to our veterinarian for a full examination.
The veterinarian found that Ada was malnourished but healthy.
There was more to Ada than the frightened dog we first met.
As she settled in, she showed us that she could get along well with other dogs.
She now has the chance to enjoy their company, with food, care, and a safe place to rest.
Ada is now one of our Pilot Pups.
Pilot Pups are dogs we rescue from the streets, feed a trial One Dose Spay and Neuter Cookie, and then adopt into loving homes.
Ada needed time and patience to accept our help.
But for millions of homeless dogs, there may be no one coming to offer food, water, or a safe place to stay.
The world's 600 million stray dogs and 87 million stray cats give birth to over 1 billion homeless puppies and kittens every year.
Tragically, those who survive, also reproduce and give birth to another generation of homeless strays - thus repeating the cycle of suffering, every year.
This is why our mission is to end the #1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats — overpopulation — by developing a Cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will, in effect, spay or neuter — without surgery.
With your help, we will end this suffering.
Please join us.
Thank you for caring and for helping animals.
