She was dumped like garbage and left to die...

When we found Jane, she could barely lift her head.
Her paws were sore and scraped from walking too long on the rough pavement.
She was not hiding from the world — she looked like she had already left it.
We approached slowly.
She did not run or bark.
Her eyes held the hollow look of a dog who had given up hope.
Team 600MillionDogs believes Jane had been dumped there a few days before.
We do not know how long she went without food or care.
All we know is her silence said more than sound ever could.
In that quiet, we saw a truth too painful to ignore: Jane had once trusted someone, and had been abandoned
We gently lifted her and brought her to safety.
Even in the car, Jane stayed silent.
No wag. No cry.
Like she did not know what safety felt like.
The veterinarian revealed the full horror of what Jane had endured: severe dehydration, infected wounds, and parasites eating her from within.
But the worst damage was not physical.
Jane flinched at every gentle touch and cowered at footsteps.
Though her body had begun to heal, her trust had been shattered.
Jane’s healing began with warmth, food, and clean water.
But trust takes longer.
She had been failed by the very species she was born to love.
Today, Jane represents countless animals whose stories never get told.
Her hollow eyes mirror millions of others abandoned, forgotten, and left to survive alone.
At 600MillionDogs, we believe every Jane deserves better.
This is why we are developing a Cookie to break the cycle of suffering before it starts.
A Cookie that will safely spay or neuter a stray dog or cat, and they will only have to eat one cookie, one time!
Please join and help us build a world where no dog is born into pain.
Thank you for helping and caring about animals like Jane.
With love,
Jane
