Most Dogs We Rescue Look Defeated
Most of the dogs we rescue look defeated by the time we reach them.
Nell was different.
Despite spending two days wandering through an abandoned area in search of food and shelter, she remained friendly and open to our help.
When we reached her, she was panting from thirst.
We offered her food and water, and once she gained our trust, we brought her to our shelter.
We also took Nell to our veterinarian for a full examination.
She was malnourished, but no major injuries were found.
Nell now has regular meals, clean water, and a safe place to rest.
Today, Nell is one of our Pilot Pups.
Pilot Pups are dogs we rescue from the streets, feed a trial One Dose Spay and Neuter Cookie, and then adopt into loving homes.
Nell's story has a happy ending, but millions of other dogs are still out there, searching through rubbish and dirt for food, walking under the hot sun and giving birth to puppies who will face the same struggle.
The world's 600 million stray dogs and 87 million stray cats give birth to over 1 billion homeless puppies and kittens every year.
Tragically, those who survive, also reproduce and give birth to another generation of homeless strays - thus repeating the cycle of suffering, every year.
This is why our mission is to end the #1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats — overpopulation — by developing a Cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will, in effect, spay or neuter — without surgery.
With your help, we will end this suffering.
Please join us.
As we work to develop the Cookie, dogs like Nell still need a chance to be rescued from the streets, receive veterinary care, and find safe, loving homes.
