My name is Blair and I’m a Pilot Pup rescued by Team 600MillionDogs.
Every June, the U.S. celebrates Father’s Day, a time to recognize and appreciate fathers and father figures for the care and support they give in families.
I grew up without a father figure to protect me from a harsh life on the streets.
My body was weak from dehydration and exhaustion as I stood alone in the grass near a village road.
I felt abandoned, watching the scorching heat cover the roadside from morning until dark, while finding water became harder each day.
No one was looking for me, and I thought my life would end right there on the dirt.
Then Team 600MillionDogs found me.
They placed water in front of me and waited patiently for me to approach.
I hesitated at first, but my intense thirst overcame my fear, and I rushed to drink.
Then they offered me food, and for the first time in days, the constant ache in my stomach eased.
I once knew the warmth of a family, so I lifted my front paw to touch the hand of my rescuer.
They gently lifted me and drove me straight to a veterinarian who examined my weak body and confirmed I would be okay.
Now I am a Pilot Pup, helping lead the way toward a future where puppies are not born into suffering.
True fatherhood is about showing up when a life is hurting, stepping in to protect, and refusing to walk away.
That is what Team 600MillionDogs gave me, and that is what you give when you stand with them.
At 600MillionDogs, we celebrate and honor all the father figures, the ones who rescue, foster, fight for better laws, or support the mission to stop suffering before it begins.
We are developing a Cookie to break the cycle of suffering before it starts.
A Cookie that will safely spay or neuter a stray dog or cat, and they will only have to eat one cookie, one time!
With your help, we will end this suffering.
Please join us.
With love,
Blair
