Bianca was too scared to come closer...

We found Bianca standing alone near a pool of filthy, stagnant water at an abandoned site.
She was thin, her head hung low, and every sound made her flinch.
She barked when we first approached.
Her fear was evident.
But we waited quietly, letting her see she did not have to run anymore.
Hunger finally pulled her closer.
She approached us step by step, watching carefully to ensure she wasn’t in danger.
Only when she realized she was safe did she let us help.
We took her to our veterinarian who examined her carefully to ensure she had no serious injuries or illnesses that needed urgent treatment.
Once we knew she was stable and safe, we moved her into shelter care.
At the shelter, Bianca curled into a blanket as though she had been waiting for it all along.
For the first time in who knows how long, she could rest without fear.
Bianca’s story is not unusual.
The world's 600 million stray dogs and 87 million stray cats give birth to over 1 billion homeless puppies and kittens every year.
Tragically, those who survive, also reproduce and give birth to another generation of homeless strays - thus repeating the cycle of suffering, every year.
This is why 600MillionDogs is developing a Cookie to break the cycle of suffering before it starts.
A Cookie that will safely spay or neuter a stray dog or cat, and they will only have to eat one cookie, one time!
With your help, we can ensure dogs like Bianca never face hunger and fear again.
Thank you very much for helping and for caring.
