A Florida law just changed the future for dogs

This may be Florida’s toughest law yet against animal cruelty.
Starting July 1, a new statewide law will go into effect that raises the penalties for extreme acts of animal abuse — and creates Florida’s first-ever animal abuse database to help stop repeat offenders.
This law is called Dexter’s Law, named in memory of a young dog who was found in a park — dumped like garbage with his head missing.
His heartbreaking story shook people across the state.
This new law carries his name.
But its purpose is larger: to prevent the next act of cruelty before it ever happens.
At 600MillionDogs, we believe protection must begin before a dog or cat is born into harm.
This is why we’re developing a permanent birth control cookie that will safely spay or neuter a stray dog or cat — and they’ll only have to eat one cookie, one time.
With your support, we can stop cruelty before it begins.
Thank you so much for standing with the voiceless.
