You have to shop … so why not save stray animals at the same time?!

Heads up – AmazonSmile is shutting down, which means you can no longer donate to 600 Million Dogs through shopping on Amazon.

The good news: now we have Goodshop!

Goodshop says they have “the best shopping deals on the internet,” and can be set up to include a small donation to 600 Million Dogs at no extra cost to you!

“In the U.S. alone, Americans spend $300 billion in e-commerce per year. If even 3% of that revenue was funneled into the nonprofit sector, it would mean a bonus of $90,000,000 every single year - important money needed for these great organizations to be able to continue doing the work we all need them to do.” -Goodshop

Every dollar brings us closer to our goal: to significantly reduce animal suffering on a global scale by developing a safe, edible, one-dose, permanent-lasting birth control Cookie for stray dogs and cats.

Goodshop will help you save and give at the same time!

We hope you’ll join Goodshop!

Please choose 600 Million Dogs to save strays!

600 Million Dogs is working on the world’s first safe, edible, one-dose, permanent-lasting birth control Cookie to save strays from overpopulation.

Save strays through…birth control?

Overpopulation is the greatest crisis facing dogs and cats.

On any given day around the world, hundreds of millions of dogs and cats wander the streets without homes. They have no access to a consistent source of food, water, or medical care.

In the U.S., nearly half a million dogs and cats are killed every single year in animal shelters. There just aren’t enough homes to save strays. And tragically, that number went up in 2022 for the first time in 5 years.

Could one-dose, permanent birth control be the solution? 600 Million Dogs thinks so!

Dogs and cats can reproduce extremely quickly. They can have multiple litters per year with multiple pups or kittens in each litter. The population has rapidly gotten out of control. The best way to solve this crisis is to address it right at the source: reproduction.

Programs like TNR (trap, neuter, release) do essential work to limit overpopulation through catching strays, bringing them to the veterinarian to undergo spay and neuter operations, and then releasing them again.

However, TNR takes a lot of time, effort, and money, and it requires the surgical skills of a veterinarian. In many cases, not enough veterinarians are available to assist with stray animal populations. Also, spay/neuter surgery is considered “major surgery,” and complications, while rare, can happen.

Spay and neuter surgery needs a revamp! The One-Dose Spay and Neuter Cookie, once completed, has the potential to save strays across the country…and the world.

Stray animals deserve a permanent solution to the overpopulation crisis!

Save strays globally!

Tragically, in many countries around the world, there are few to no laws protecting strays from sickening and inhumane abuse.

Poison is the most common method used to kill stray dogs and cats around the world. Poison is a slow and agonizing death. In 2015, Australia announced plans to kill 2 million feral cats by 2020.

Poisonous sausages were designed and distributed across the country. Hunters were also given approval to shoot the cats with a bow and arrow.

Despite over 160,000 signatures across multiple petitions, the murder mission went ahead.

A video made its rounds online showing one innocent cat suffering an excruciating death, an arrow piercing her side.

Similarly, around big events such as the Olympics, countries turn to killing stray animals due to overpopulation.

In Beijing, hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats were loaded into trucks and transported to facilities where they were killed.

They were stuffed into cages so small they couldn’t even turn around.

Cats were beaten to death with sticks.

Dogs were poisoned and died slow, agonizing deaths.

Similar tragedies occurred during the Sochi Olympics.

And these disturbing examples of abuse will only continue to happen without a meaningful, permanent solution.

Save strays to save human lives!

Saving strays doesn’t only prevent suffering to animals themselves. It also saves human lives.

The overpopulation crisis leads to an increase in rabies cases. Dog bites are the leading cause of rabies with over 99% of infections in humans happening as a result.

Once rabies symptoms appear, the disease is 100% fatal.

While dogs can be vaccinated against rabies, this is only a temporary solution. As the dog population continues to increase rapidly, dogs will need to continue to be trapped and vaccinated.

Choose 600 Million Dogs to save strays from suffering!

The overpopulation crisis means stray dogs and cats are suffering. It also means an increase in rabies infections, leading to human suffering.

The Cookie is in the research and development stage, but we believe that once completed, it will have the power to address this tragedy right at its source.

This project is severely underfunded, and every gift is greatly appreciated.

We hope you’ll join Goodshop!
